Tissue Microarray (TMA) is an innovative tool that allows the simultaneous staining and visualization of multiple samples on the same slide. abm offers custom construction of Tissue Microarrays with a variety of core sizes, and assists with the cutting and staining of Tissue Microarray slides.

Custom Tissue Microarray Construction - Basic Service Construction of Tissue Microarray block from single tissue blocks provided by the customer.

Customer to provide:
  1. All blocks required to construct the Tissue Microarray. Please contact us if you are not able to provide all blocks required for Tissue Microarray construction.
  2. Indicate the area of interest for each tissue block (please refer to steps 1 and 2 of the workflow for instructions on how to mark your area of interest). Please circle the area of interest on the H&E stained slide and send us the slide and/or the image of the whole slide.

Deliverables: Tissue Microarray Block and report with position information listed for each core.

Lead Time: Project dependent.

Have the tissue, but can’t embed it or cut it? Don’t worry, send us the tissue sample/block, and we can do the embedding and/or cutting for you!

Specimen type Shipping instructions
Unstained slides Place slides in microscope slide boxes. Make sure to seal and wrap the box well.
Formalin-Fixed wet tissues Transfer formalin-fixed sample to 70% alcohol. Seal and wrap the container well to prevent leaks.
Fixed cell pellet Transfer the samples to 70% alcohol. Seal and wrap the container well to prevent leaks.
FFPE tissue blocks Ship tissue blocks in a cassette case or bag. During the month of May to August, ship blocks with gel ice pack to prevent the block from melting due to higher temperatures.
