Description |
As a part of the penicillin group, Ampicillin is a beta lactam antibiotic that is able to penetrate both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. By inhibiting the transpeptidase within the bacteria, Ampicillin ultimately prevents the formation of the cell wall, causing cell lysis. |
