What are the units used to measure lentivirus, retrovirus, AAV and adenovirus particles? | |
Lentivirus and retrovirus titer can be measured as CFU/ml (Colony Forming Units per ml) AAV titer is measured as GC/ml (Genomic Copies per ml). Adenovirus titer is measured as PFU/ml (Plaque Forming Units per ml). The concentration for all types of viruses can also be classified as IU/ml (Infectious Units per ml). Ultimately, the units refer to the viral particles and different units reflect the different assays involved.
