Ammonium Persulfate (APS)
Cat. No. | CH009 |
Name | Ammonium Persulfate (APS) |
Category | Buffers & General Chemicals |
Description |
Ammonium Persulfate (APS) is a strong oxidizing agent commonly used as a free radical initiator in the polymerization of acrylamide gels, such as in SDS-PAGE. In the presence of TEMED, APS catalyzes the formation of polyacrylamide by generating free radicals. It is also used in biochemical assays and etching processes. APS should be prepared fresh, as it is unstable in solution over time and sensitive to heat and light. |
Concentration | 6X |
