Recombinant Rat IL17
Cat. No. | Z300175 |
Name | Recombinant Rat IL17 |
Description | Interleukin-17 (IL-17 or IL-17A) is the founder member of the IL-17 cytokine family, which shares 50% homology with IL-17F. IL-17 cytokines are produced by T helper (Th)17 cells, gamma delta T cells, and other immune cells. IL-17A and IL-17F form homodimers and heterodimers as functional ligands. IL-17 cytokines bind to 2 receptors, IL-17RA and IL-17RC. IL-17RC forms a receptor heterodimer with IL-17RA. The receptor heterodimer is preferred by IL-17 ligands , thus, either IL-17RA knockout (KO) or IL- 17RC KO completely abolishes IL-17 signaling. IL-17A and IL-17F are key proinflammatory cytokines involved in many inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. |

Formulation | Recombinant Rat Interleukin-17 was lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered PBS solution pH 7.5. |
Function | The activity was measured by the ability to induce IL-6 secretion in murine 3T3 cell assay. |
Reconstitution | A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers. |
Storage | The lyophilized protein is stable for at least one year from date of receipt at -70°C. Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2° - 8°C for one month, or at -20°C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. |
