1kb Opti-DNA Marker
Cat. No. | G106 | ||||||||
Name | 1kb Opti-DNA Marker
Category | DNA & Protein Ladders
Description |
PCR products and double-stranded DNA were digested with appropriate restriction enzymes to completion to yield 19 bands, ranging from 100 pb – 10 kb, for molecular weight standards in agarose gel electrophoresis. The 500, 1,500, and 3,000 base pair bands have increased intensity to serve as quick reference points. Approximated mass of each DNA band is provided (for a loading size of 5 μl of the DNA ladder) for approximating the mass of DNA in comparably intense DNA samples of similar size.
|
||||||||
Concentration | 172 µg/ml
Application |
For approximating DNA size and amount on agarose gels. |
||||||||
Storage Condition |
Store @ 4°C for up to 3 months or -20°C for up to 24 months. |

How much of the should I load onto the gel?
It is recommended to gently mix the ladder by pipetting up and down a few times, then load 5 μl directly into the well of the gel.
|
What makes certain bands in this DNA ladder more visible than others?
The 500 bp, 1,500 bp, and 3,000 bp bands have increased intensity, making them easier to identify and use as quick reference points during gel electrophoresis.
|
Can I estimate the DNA mass in my sample using this ladder?
Yes. The DNA ladder includes approximated mass values for each band (based on a 5 μl load), allowing you to estimate the mass of DNA in samples with comparable intensity and size.
