Recombinant Human Fractalkine (CX3CL1) (E. coli)
Cat. No. | Z101895 |
Name | Recombinant Human Fractalkine (CX3CL1) (E. coli) |
Description | Fractalkine is a type I membrane protein that signals through the CX3CR1 receptor. The extracellular domain of Fractalkine is released by protease cleavage – producing soluble Fractalkine. Fractalkine has been found in many tissues and shown to be up-regulated in endothelial cells and microglia in response to inflammatory signals. Fractalkine is also involved in leukocyte adhesion as well as attracting monocytes, microglia cells and NK cells. |

Appearance | Lyophilized Powder |
Molecular Weight | 8.9 kDa |
Endotoxin Level | <1.0 EU/µg of recombinant protein as determined by the LAL method. |
Purity | >95% as determined by SDS-PAGE |
Formulation | Lyophilized from a 0.2µm filtered solution in 20mM phosphate buffer and 50mM NaCl, pH 7.4 |
Function | Measured by its ability to chemoattract BaF3 mouse pro-B cells transfected with mouse CX3CR1. The ED(50) for this effect is typically 20100 ng/mL |
Reconstitution | A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in sterile distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers. |
Storage | The lyophilized protein is stable for at least one year from date of receipt at -70°C. Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2° - 8°C for one month, or at -20°C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. |
Usage | For research use only. Not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. |
