Material Citation | If use of this material results in a scientific publication, please cite the material in the following manner: Applied Biological Materials Inc, Cat. No. G596 |
Does BlasTaq™ Probe 2X qPCR MasterMix contain an antibody?
No, BlasTaq™ Probe 2X qPCR MasterMix does not contain an antibody. It includes dNTPs, BlasTaq™ DNA polymerase, MgCl₂, and proprietary buffer components, making it ideal for TaqMan probe-based real-time qPCR analysis and various applications like SNP genotyping and gene expression analysis.
|
How does BlasTaq™ differ from regular Taq polymerase?
BlasTaq™ DNA Polymerase is a next-generation, engineered Taq polymerase designed to offer faster extension rates, higher yields, and improved processivity compared to traditional wild-type Taq polymerase. It also provides enhanced sensitivity, and can reduce reaction times by up to 70% through a specialized reaction protocol.
|
How should I store this product?
This product should be stored at -20°C to maintain its activity and stability. Ensure that the enzyme is kept in a frozen state until ready to use.
|
Does this have ROX reference dye?
abm's qPCR MasterMixes don't contain ROX dye, but it is provided in a separate tube when you purchase any abm qPCR MasterMix. Some qPCR machines may require ROX, so please consult our machine compatibility list on the product page to see if your instrument needs it.
|
How much ROX reference dye should I add to the MasterMix?
The recommended volume of ROX reference dye varies based on the qPCR instrument:
|
Can I use this MasterMix with any qPCR machine?
Yes, this MasterMix is universally compatible with most qPCR instruments, as the ROX dye is provided separately for flexibility.
|
What is the difference between probe-based and dye-based qPCR assays?
Probe-based assays, like those using TaqMan probes, rely on a specific probe that binds to the target DNA sequence and emits a fluorescent signal when cleaved during amplification. This provides high specificity for detecting the target sequence. Dye-based assays, like those using SYBR Green or EvaGreen, rely on a dye that binds to double-stranded DNA, emitting fluorescence as the amount of DNA increases during amplification. Dye-based assays are simpler but may be less specific since the dye binds to any double-stranded DNA, not just the target sequence. BlasTaq™ Probe 2X qPCR MasterMix is specifically designed for probe-based assays, offering higher specificity, while dye-based assays use MasterMixes like BlasTaq™ 2X qPCR MasterMix (Cat. No. G891). |
Can I use BlasTaq™ Probe 2X qPCR MasterMix for high-throughput screening?
Yes, BlasTaq™ Probe 2X qPCR MasterMix is suitable for high-throughput screening applications, as well as other applications like SNP genotyping and gene expression analysis.
|
What is the source of this enzyme?
The enzyme is produced recombinantly in E. coli, which has been engineered to express the enzyme gene. While the original gene may come from another organism, all production and purification occur using E. coli under controlled conditions.
